"I liked it so much more than I originally thought I would. When I began reading this book, I figured that Triss was just an annoying, immature character with no likable qualities, but I was wrong. Although Triss's tendency of choosing men over Hailey was annoying, Triss was a nice person and never meant to intentionally hurt Hailey. For the most part, I liked Triss because she had a fun, carefree personality, and I liked Hailey because she still knew how to have fun even though she was the responsible one. I thought this novel was a fun read and once I got into the story I was always eager to read more. Although the ending was not what I expected, I appreciated that Hailey finally stood up for herself, and I thought that her situation was very relatable, seeing as I just went through a similar one. Hailey's struggle with the way Triss treated her was really relatable to me which made me like the book even more. This book was funny, well written, and full of surprises. If you're looking for a light read that's not too serious, I would recommend this book because it's honestly a fun read. I wasn't expecting the ending to be so emotional for me as I texted my daughter in tears I loved her book

I'm not that much of a reader, but the title and the Author held me captive . This is my daughters third book and I was anxious to see what this was about the two friends in the book span a lifetime of togetherness and ups and downs two very different personalities, I was so engrossed with the story and finding similar threads of text dimilar to my daughters own experiences I'm guessing. I could not put this down and when I had to (for awhile) I would be thinking nonstop about the characters and their times together . I wasn't expecting the ending to be so emotional for me as I texted my daughter in tears I loved her book!!!

Quite a road trip!

While I'm like neither Hailey nor Triss, I did remain close with a childhood friend until we were about 30. We're not friends anymore and Alex's story of friends trying to survive a road trip brought back - in a visceral way -- why we had to go our separate ways. In fact, reading Girls Like Us was cathartic because it is so real. I binge-listened to this story at the beach on Memorial Day Weekend and felt as if I was trapped in the black Mustang, or at raucous backyard barbecues or in motel rooms with these young ladies...and they made me relive parts of my youth that I'm not proud of. Made me remember times when drinking and hooking up were important pursuits and when the story was done, I think my conscience felt more clear than it ever had about my part in breaking up that long-term friendship. Girls Like Us reminded me that I dragged that friendship on for about 10 years too long. We hadn't fit each other's temperament or philosophy and yet and continued.
I felt like I knew myself better after reading/listening to this Audio book.
